Eek, it’s been ages since I last updated this! I’ve been busy house hunting again, grrrrr. I seem to attract nightmare landlords. This lot spent ages trying to persuade us to sign a 12 month contract, then announced they had put the house up for sale instead, giving us hardly any time to move out! It’s the first week of university semester, so the housing market is busy, but most of the rooms up for grabs either specified undergrad students (24 is old and past it apparently! This is the first time I’ve ever been too old for something I think), or are married couples with 3 year olds looking to let a spare room. Not ideal! So anyway I’ve kind of lucked out finding this place. I haven’t moved yet, but am collecting keys tomorrow. It’s pricey, but worth it hopefully. I’ll be sharing with the guy who owns it, who has just finished his PhD and is now lecturing in marine biol at the Uni. Its a proper old wooden ‘Queenslander’ house, with a little verandah and lots of character. Anyway I’ll let you know more when I’ve moved in.I’m now celebrating with home made brownies and a glass of wine
Tomorrow I have to work out how to move all my stuff and my bed without a car!

Becks is a marine ecology PhD student, living in Queensland (Australia), Dumaguete (Philippines) and London (UK). Marinegirl is her online alter-ego. She dreamt her up as as super-gorgeous superhero saving the underwater world (if you've seen Captain Planet, you get the idea). She is not, and never will be, in the marines.
yum yum! good luck with the move!
